I want to know how indigenes threat foreigners in Cyprus, most especially Africans. How easy is it to start up a business in Cyprus and thirdly how must can accommodation cost for a student hostel

I cant say ive noticed any racism here in the year we have we have been living permanently - unlike my experiences in Malta where it is rife.

As for business start up - cant comment as we are retired and  dont work - maybe another member can answer

similarly cant comment on hostel prices but you can get one bedroom flats very cheaply - say €150 - €180 per month

I also heard that I can not work until after 6 months because I am coming as a student. With my southern Cyprus student visa can I travel to other European countries in freely without restrictions or how does it work?

Greek Cypriots are no way racist a but skeptical about strangers in some places but not racist. This is Cyprus not UK or USA all are welcome X

I don't see why you can't start up your own business. I guess it depends what it is.

I have been in Cyprus for 7 years and have Cypriot friends whom I consider brothers. I have never seen any sign of racism around me.

That is not to say that there is none, because as in any society there are always minorities who occasionally express their thoughts, which should be respected but not shared if you do not think like them.

Cyprus is my home and as already mentioned, people of all nationalities are welcome here. But please, do not break the law :)

This is an old post from 6 years ago ....

Hello everyone,

Like @Toon mentioned, this thread is old.

Should you want to share your experience as an expat in Cyrus, do not hesitate to create a new thread on the Cyprus forum:cool:

Cheers,
