Going to work in PNG

good day everybody! i was offered a job as an autocad specialist for a project in port moresby. it will be for the japanese embassy. i was offered 1700 usd plus 200 usd food allowance wtih free accommodation. however i will enter png via tourist visa for two months due to the urgency of the job and then it will be processed while im still there. i will have an inviation letter from the company. i dont know the legitimacy of this process  or is ti advisable to push through with it. your advice will be deeply appreciated. thank you

I don't believe that will be legal, as no work/business is meant to be conducted under a tourist visa. They could apply for a business visa I think though. You should check with immigration. www . immigration . gov . pg

i think i will be given a  business visa

You can come in and work on a business visa whilst your work permit is being processed. I have done the same when working in PNG.

Be careful. The authorities are pretty strict on working on a tourist visa. You would have to leave and apply for a new working visa from outside the country...
