Philhealth

Aussie Engraver

Have discovered Philhealth is available to expats with residential status and rates are terrific.
Has anyone had any claims, or problems? Any comments with the system would be much appreciated.

We have had PhilHealth for a few years now and it works great.  The cost is worth the benefits you get.  They will pay 25 percent of most in hospital stays and procedures.  Its not a lot of coverage, but its worth every peso paid for the coverage.

Hope this helps, RAC

Biggest advantage is probably that you will get treated immediately in an Emergency (In accredited Philhealth establishments) due to the Phil Health card which also establish your identity. Carry it with you at all times.
Thus you gain valuable time before your folks can "upgrade" your Hospitalization if needed.
And yes, the benefits outweigh the very low costs by far.
