Hey Nonz, shame - maybe the next time - are you all packed and ready for your trip? That will keep you busy for a while I am sure.

There is nothing stopping you from arranging this yourself, we just started this off, but if you decide on a date, time and venue (Kingdom Mall - Starbucks Cafe in Debenhams) would be a good one, and just put out your own post for some Ladies from the site to meet up; am sure you will find yourself a Coffee Group! CAF will be off for a little while and I have no plans to do anything soon. Get a girlfriend to go with you and try it, it should be fun!
Wizard - sorry you couldn't make it, Max and I had a very nice time! As she mentioned, I'm gone now for the next few weeks... but nothing stopping you from picking a day and putting something on the site - Im sure someone will join in. Go have some fun...
I think we shall have to do one of these Coffee Get Togethers right around Xmas, just to break up the monotony!!!! i still say you're all welcome at my place... will need a new thread methinks?

My attitude to packing is; all I need is my ticket ref, my passport & visa, money, and an overnight bag the rest you can make a plan Don't stress, it will all come right in the end, like it always does.

its ON! sorry about not posting earlier... I was trying to wrap up some personal stuff... lost track of time... and xmas is gone now... maybe a head count of whose still here so we can ring in the new year together??
OK, what's happening, where and when, it's not clear from this thread (unless you started a new one?)
sorry, i was suggesting a coffee morning get together after new years at my place, inviting all the lovely ladies in Riyadhs Expat.com!
i should warn you that someone else would have to make the coffee.. tea is more my expertise!!

OK, so, the date and time? The venue (compound or address), i wouldn't propose for this to be on the open site, why donb't you collate who is interested to attend and then send them a pm with the details.
all those who are interested post below. will come up with a date and time, and i live in an apartment not in a compound
Interested and I can bring and make coffee!
What about the men no body live in compound can invite us for the nw year party ?
I would want to be part of the coffee morning! new here and looking to meet some patriots...
Missing home
Im interested too! I'll bring the coffee cream! lol:D
Waiting on the date & time... Lets go Wizard, you're way behind the power curve here...
monday, 10th Jan suit everyone?
ok so its me and CAF, and who else now? lets get a final list of attendees by wednesday?
CAF wrote:GO was on the list too!
Ahem! thanks CAF , I was starting to feel a little neglected there for a mo ! Wiz, keep track of these threads or you will be left behind on this. Send me and CAF and whoever else who has confirmed they will be attending this, a pm with the location details and your contact number so we can arrange our driver(s).
@ all the other EXPAT WOMEN out there, who else is up for this?
Rules of engagement are that in respect of the host (providing the venue) all guests will bring something to contribute to the coffee morning; may I suggest the following:
Tea - host
Coffee - GWTF
Fruit juice - ??? orange, fruit cocktail or things like that, just soft drinks (a couple of ladies can bring this)
Some goodies (suggest a few nibbles - if we all just bring a small selection of something, that should work)
Then we will have all that we need for a great coffee morning. I have a couple of health & fitness magazines I will bring as I want to chat this out with a few people on what they do to keep themselves fit and from going down the easy Expat obesity route (not meant to offend anyone, this is one of my issues).
are you back CAF? how was the vacation?

Missing home
Sorry to hear you are missing home , cheer up, things will get better once you settle in and make some friends Come on guys on this site, will one of you arrange another get-together for the men, there are a few newbies on hear sounding like they could use some company and have a good banter.
Sorry Asyed, you will not be able to come to our Coffee Morning as it's WOMEN ONLY! Country rules am afraid
GREAT! i will make sure to stick to this post like glue!!! as soon as i get more interested parties responding to this i shall send out directions to get to my place. CAF has my digits and i shall just send you in just a moment... I would love to have the discussion of health and fitness... i am also turning onto the fat road while living here..
and thank you so much for offering to bring stuff... i would have gladly made everything for you all... but i would like everyone to feel at home at my place so if it would make you happy, then that would be my pleasure as well...
