Musician wages in Thailand

Post new topic

drewbarron

Hi,
I'm a semi retired musician moving shortly to Thailand for the winter. I might do a few gigs while I'm there but I don't know how much to charge. I don't want to insult anyone. Any advice?
Cheers Drew

Hi,

it depends of a bunch of things. How big the band? Do you bring your own stuff or is there some material out there already?

I don't think the pay is pretty big. My guess would be probably 1000 baht for an hour, if you have to drive etc... If you're really good and unique you can double that. At that point it depends on the musician!

Thanks for the tips.

Without a work permit you better be careful.

I'm with you on the permit. I don't need the hassle.
