Hi everyone,

I am thinking about moving from the USA. I am a newly single Mom. Would I be able to go as a single woman with my children? They are 16, 13 and 5.
I am an RN here in the USA with 10 years of experience and would be looking to work in the hospital there. Is anyone an RN or know one that works/lives there? How is the pay, hours, benefits, etc? Is it worth the move?

Hello Lauren

To which part of the UAE are you planning to move?

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I was thinking about Abu Dhabi.

Better do some more research.  I am not sure, but I heard a single mom is not ok here as they have strict rules but please ask around perhaps I am wrong.  Also, make sure IF EVER that the employer covers the accommodation + schools otherwise it will be too expensive for you to put your children to school here as the average cost is 25-40K p.a.

The package for RN is good and even if you are a single mother, sponsoring the children is not an issue  since you are from a western country. But the rental expense in Abu Dhabi is too high and it stands second in the list of most expensive cities in the world. Since you have 3 children, you may need at least a 2 bedroom apartment and unless it is covered by your employer, the offer wont make sense. Best of luck
