Hi,

I am in Malaysia from 1st July as an employee. I have heard that I need to be in country for 182 days to become tax resident and from after that my tax rate will be decreased and this extra deduction will be refunded. I have even be told that I can not leave country for more then 14days within this period. What if I leave for say 10 days. Will this 10 days be added in my 182 days? Mine 182 days will be over in 30th Dec this years.

Could you please help to answer this, Does this needs to continuous 182 days or total 182 days in financial year ?

neoloe

its continuous182 days. Once you have compleated 182 they will refund the excess tax amount. Dont worry.
