Hello,

My name is Helen it is very nice to meet you. I have been to your city and like it and your country very much. There were 13 friends including my husband and me who visited Vietnam in 2013 to celebrate my daughter's birthday.

Firstly we visited Ho Chi Min City then flew to Danang where we hired a van and driver who drove us to Hue where we stayed for only one day, but would like to return there for a better tour of the area. From there we went to Hoi An for one week. We had a wonderful time there and liked it very much, they were holding a lantern ceremony while we were there and it was beautiful to watch all the lanterns floating on the river. It was there we celebrated my daughter's birthday.

After Hoi An we drove back to Danang and then flew with Vietnam Airlines to Hanoi. We were very impressed by Vietnam Airlines and I thought there service was excellent and their planes appeared to have more room so were more comfortable than most airlines. We also were very impressed with Hanoi and really liked it and the people. We were very upset to know that people in the North ate dog and made sure we avoided the areas where they sold dog meat. I have a dog as well as some of the others, those who did not have a dog are however very fond of them as pets.

Ha Long Bay was very beautiful, we spent two nights on a junk which crashed into another one during the night and started taking on water, the crew managed to stop it somehow. I did not know till the morning I slept through the whole incident. The junk itself was rather disappointing as in the photos they show you it appeared to be in very good repair and relatively new, however it was old, smelled of mold and in one cabin the air conditioning kept dripping water which made it worse. The staff were very nice and helpful which made the trip more pleasant than it could have been.

We are hoping to visit Vietnam again sometime. Best wishes, Helen

Wow,  you stayed in Hoi an for 2 weeks,  it was so long,  i really don't know why many people like visiting Hoi An. It is very small town,  doesn't have any beautiful landscape there.  Maybe,  they do good service & good food.
