Cost of living in Qatar

Post new topic

expat.com

Hi everybody,

It would be very useful to talk about the cost of living in Qatar.

Don't forget to mention where in Qatar you are living.

How much does it cost to live in Qatar?

> accommodation prices

> public transportation fares (tube, bus etc ...)

> food prices(per month, how much does it cost you?)

> health prices (for those who need medical insurance)

> eduction prices (if you need to pay)

> energy prices (oil, electricity)

> common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone)

> prices of a good menu in a traditional restaurant

> prices of a beer and or a coffee in a regular pub

> price of the cinema

Do not hesitate to add items to this list!

Thanks in advance for your participation!!

Thank you :)

I've worked hard to compile a list of informational resources here

http://www.iloveqatar.net/cost.php

(On a side note, would Expat.com mind if I created a Maroon looking 'suitcase' when linking back?)

Julien

Welcome on board amnesia, could you please post a few information on the forum?

(about the suitcase, you'll find more colors here: https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3513)

not a problem Julien, I'll share some of ILQ's knowledge on your site.

I have just taken a teaching offer at a uni in Doha on a salary of $32,000 QR /month + free accommodation +free medical care. Is this ok for a couple with  three kids?

I will also like to know about the cost of living and mode of transport to UAE (esp Dubai) if need be.

Thanks heaps.

Armand

Hi and welcome to the forum zegler!

I would suggest you to start a new thread on the Qatar forum for better visibility!

Regards
Armand
