Modern Furniture...not Harvey Norman or Ikea

Post new topic

Okicheron

Hi - we've been in KL for a week now and after much angst have finally settled on an apartment. Now to furnish it!

In terms of furniture, what are some shops you suggest we visit...other than Harvey Norman or Ikea. Any modern Malaysian furniture shops?

Someone sent us a link to Lazada...is this a reliable website in Malaysia? The stuff there seems too cheap to be true. Has anyone used them for furniture before? Do they assemble the beds, chairs, desks and tables for you?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can share  :D

Lazada is not very trustworthy. A friend of mine used to buy things on there but despite the brand name they sold him fake / replicas. Groupon is more trustworthy. In terms of furniture go around show rooms and furniture stores, touch the material, sit on it once you have found something you like then buy there are a lot of them in Kl so take a day off and look around as much as you can. Please make sure you get good warranty and repair from the seller as I once bought furniture for my room but some were not put together properly and the seller denied to resend the repair men just a few weeks later. So make sure the furniture is put together very well only then sign the receipt from the repair people. Hope this helps!(repair men / assemblers do assemble ) :)

Hi, based on my experience, you can also get modern furniture from Plaza Perabot in Kelana Jaya.

Thanks...and where are some furniture showrooms? I've only seen Harvey Norman so would appreciate some names to look up.

Cheers
