Shifting to Kuwait

Hi,
I am a Chartered Accountant and I have got a offer from a MNC Audit firm in Kuwait in Safat.
Just wanted to following things
1. How good is Safat location ?
2. I would get a salary of KWD 1100 p.m , is it enough for couple. Thinking I would be staying near Safat area.
3. My wife is currently working here and we are planning if she can join some company there also.
4. Kuwait being Muslim country, how much liberal it is compared to India

Hello chheda25jn, Safat is a crowded area, maybe you can stay at Bneid Al Gar, Sharq or Shaab Al Bahri areas which are more better. The salary you mentioned is good enough for you and your wife to lead a reasonably comfortable life here in Kuwait. Your wife can certainly work here in a job matching her qualification and experience, but she will have to find a Co. or employer who is willing to change her residence/visa if you will bring her on a dependent visa initially. She will not be able to legally work while still under your sponsorship. Lastly, you cannot compare Kuwait to India in any respect. But, having said that, Kuwait is a fairly liberal country and people from all kind of nationalities and all walks of life have been living her for more than 75 years and there is no reason to believe why you guys cannot.
