Hi,

To be able to move in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a lot of expatriates think of buying a car, whether new or second-hand.

What are the formalities to buy a vehicle in the Democratic Republic of Congo: car registration, insurance, etc.?

What are the relevant authorities or organizations to contact?

How long does it take and what are the associated costs?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience,

Kenjee

I am congolese and although I am currently living in Cape town, I am fully aware of how everything works in the DRC. In order to purchase a car, one will need a valid form of ID.Usually the seller will take care of all documentation and formalities and all of that can take up to a week to complete.
