Julien,

First and foremost, thank you for providing a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience.

I have not been a member that long, and have gained so much information in that short time.

Again Thanks...

Cheers

It would be great to have some kind of official pen friends around the world area.  Not just for local hook ups but to find others who want to be found for becoming pen friends. A lot has changed for me back home. Having become an expat under my own steam, I am not being repatriated through a company. I am just going home. But I am going home to no one.

In some ways, I am returning home after an extended tour away as a foreigner (but with all the rights of a citizen, of course). It would be useful to make contact with people or a person in the target area(s) I wish to live. It would be a plus, if over time having developed a relationship via expat.com, someone could meet me at the areoport, for example. Especially since I am targeting tiny resort towns and not big CMA cities.

As it is now I can open a topic on the subject but it quickly gets funnelled to the bottom of the pile amidst stuff like "Who's Going To The Movies/Pub/Stadium this Weekend" and "Lonely & New in Town, Anyone Here" postings.

Just a thought. It would make this place more useful to expats on the return of their journey.
