Two questions please.

1. The areas within 30-45 mins outside of Florence, north, east, south, west, does any one area offer more attractive living than the others or are they all reasonably similar?

2. Any advice on specific villages where we should conduct property searches. Preference is for a village with commerce, bakery, butcher, mini supermarket, and services such as Doctor, pharmacy.
Many thanks for any comments/observations.

I live in Poggibonsi and find it a good place to live. There is a regular bus and train service for commuters to Florence and Siena. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the centre of either city by train or bus from here. Property prices are considerably lower than either Florence or Siena considering it isn't so much of a tourist town. The scenery in the area around the town is incredible seeing as we are in Chianti: just five minutes by car and you are in the middle of the country. The town itself has all the main services and has notably improved esthetically since I arrived here over 7 years ago.

Good luck wherever you decide to settle!

Hi D.Marie,

That is very helpful thank you very much.
It gives us a starting point, but obviously we will need to come, look, and discover.

We are an Aussie/Kiwi couple, been living in Burgundy in recent years, so one wine area to another can`t be all bad!

Thanks again for your info.
Cheers,
Bruce.
