Expat1 "I bought a schawarma today for lunch, it was the worst I've ever had"
Expat2 "I agree, the schawarmas here are terrible! Can't wait to go home and get a good schawarma. LOL"
Local1 "Sorry, you didn't enjoy your schawarma, but if you goto my friend's cafe, you will get the best schawarma. Not all schawarma's here are bad"
Moderator "This post should be in the Classifieds section"
Expat1 "Thanks Local1, will try it out "
Local2 "The schawarma's here are better than in your country. If you don't like them, leave"
Expat3 "All schawarma's are bad. Can't believe you can't get Tacos here "
Local3 "The schawarma was probably made by a non-Local, Local schawarmas are the best. We don't like non-locals who can't make schawarmas"
Local2 "You want Taco ? Go home and eat Taco. I ate Taco once in your country and I was ill. And so was my dog that I gave it to when I couldn't finish it. Even rats wouldn't eat your taco"
Expat3 "You sound like the dumb local did in the schawarma shop when I asked for a taco. As long as your country fails to provide meat filled snacks from two different countries, it will never be anything"
Local4 "My friend told me about this forum, so I've joined to make 1 post and to be indignant about the way Expats talk about our schawarma. I will never post again, so don't worry"
Moel "I prefer smoked salmon, cream cheese and fresh basil on a bagel"
Local2 "Mo, we know you don't like Local food, you like US food. Why do you have to always go on about it ?"
Former Expat1 "I'm glad I now live in <
Expat55(Expat2 pseudonym)"I'm going for schawarma tonight with my friend, anyone care to join us ?"
Local4 "OK, I'll make 2 posts, then leave. I'm going to tell all my friends to come here and slag off the meat filled snacks in your countries"
Julien "Please, no more food topics"

Newuser1 "Hi, I'm new (and statistically, Canadian) where can I get a good schawarma ?"
and go back to the top....
** apart from the grammar and spelling being much better, I think that's about right **
*Applause*
Superb effort.

You put me in tears this morning reading this. I was laughing so hard. This is so correct.

Most people here are simpleminded morons with the mental capacity of a goldfish. The only thing their being expat or local has to do with it is how that stupidity manifests itself.
Hilarious post by the way.

Why you felt you needed to quote that entire post in order for us to understand who you were responding to (especially considering it's the OP), I'm at something of a loss to fathom.

Really?
nice one
we've roughly got the same issue on the KSA forum... Locals hijacking discussions. We'll soon make a decision regarding this. Every suggestion / idea would is appreciated (PM me or the team)
MoEl wrote:Wait a minute!!! Why am I in pink??
LOL you only picked that up now?!?!?! HAHAHAHA!
Sea Angel wrote:Really?
Listen carefully. It's not considered good netiquette to quote the entirety of long posts. It annoys other people who have to scroll through bloat that they don't need to read again. Replying with an intentional full quote plus evidently sarcastic remark isn't exactly the most mature way to respond when somebody tries to inform you of that.
Julien wrote:we've roughly got the same issue on the KSA forum... Locals hijacking discussions.
That's only 50% of the problem, there are just as many poorly considered comments from expats. It takes at least 2 people or 1 with multiple user names to have an argument

I am aware of that issue too. I keep on eye on our "schizo member"

I was Joking, have no more to say. u just blown it all off
I apologize if I offended anyone -- obviously I offended one -- by not having netiquette and quoting the whole quote and not having computer savvy as some of you. Just like Samakauk said, I didn't realize it was too hard to scroll through something you read and not have to read it again.
Could somebody please send me the rules on Netiquette, so I know?
And how come Samakauk didn't get in trouble for quoting the whole quote? LOL Send Samakauk Netiquette rules too.

Exactly what I was thinking "Bigtuna."

And the eternal quest for social approval lives on expat-blog as it does in bars, malls and government offices around the globe.
Mudman, great post...needed a laugh!
Getting rid of the locals won't get stop the arguments...expats themselves are a colourful and varied lot. Just look at what followed.
BTW MoEL, what does la prima scintilla mean? just curious.
That pretty much sums the dialogs on expat forums anywhere.
Change the schavarma to the appropriate local dish.
keep your spirits up.

where'd you say that schwarma place was?
Brilliant Mudman even by your high standards. You have achieved the near impossible, I am actually smiling on a Sunday morning
MoEl wrote:Italian for The First Spark (i.e. of the 1969 revolution). Sabha was where the whole thing started.
No it wasn't. The coup was conceived, planned, launched, and publicly announced in Benghazi. Ironic because nowadays the good Colonel happens to hold an intense dislike of eastern Libya for various reasons.

Ok, so, again:
You're Expat 3 and I'm Expat 55. Got it?
Now it's your turn to further substantiate your position on the great taco-warma debate.
You aren't making any sense Mo

I'd prefer if we went ahead and took our daily dose of Ritalin so we can get back to what we were originally talking about.
