To get into the festive season, let's see who can tell their most funniest or most memorable story that happened to them during Christmas or New Years past.  Let's try and keep it as clean as possible.  :)

Can't really remember any one of them parties.;)

Not funny, but most memorable would have to be last Christmas. Having just arrived 10 days previously, I spent Christmas sitting in a rather shabby city centre hotel eating pizza (tuna would you believe) for my Christmas lunch, then Skyping the family back home and watching them tuck into roast turkey and ALL the trimmings :dumbom: . This year back to Scotland for said turkey with the family :D

...2000 new years in tripoli, my first time...everyone i knew in italy ( rest of the world :) ) was celebrating like crazy the new millennium and i was sipping tea in front of the tv playing cards with my neighbors...i'll never forget that one :lol:

Year 2008, spending three nights at a hotel in Blackpool, everyone was celebrating in his own way lol

Hey I tried, I really, really tried.  :(

Okay lets not keep it clean and add your worst Christmas/New Year.......nah, i didn;t think that would work either.

my favorite was quite a few years ago. our son was little and he'd been driving me nuts. i was giving him the usual "if you don't be good, santa won't bring you anything but sticks and coal!" routine.

christmas morning comes. at the crack of dawn he bursts into our room with "quick, quick, you'd better come downstairs and see! mom, i was a lot better than you thought!"

I guess this will be my first Christmas here and can you believe that on my way to Susa yesterday I actually heard Christmas songs on the radio????  Ok so they were really crappy remakes
but actual Christmas songs none the less. Aaaaaand, one of the stores close to my house has Christmas trees in the window.  At first I thought the string lights that I keep seeing were Christmas lights but someone informed me that they are for weddings.  I can't even keep track of what day it is yet so I have a feeling that I wake up and it will actually be New Year's.

HO HO Ho from BG!

M0j0, so you're a female I guess if so could you please change your profile to a female one because it starting to look weird with your other posts on the forum.

We were on our way home to my family's for Christmas and the tire went flat.  I tried to occupy the children with singing while hubby carefully tried to unpack the trunk without letting the kids see the gifts.  Of course, someone was able to sneak a peek and saw the gifts.  "Mom why are there toys outside?"  Tried to come up with a story about Santa not wanting to deliver them to the wrong house....luckily for me they were young enough to believe it.  A Merry Christmas was had by all! ;)

Mine was a christmas many, many years ago.  My sister and I were kind of at that age where we were beginning to feel that dad was filling the stockings and eating the cookies and milk we would leave out for Santa.  So christmas eve we hid ourselves in the living room facing the fireplace with the stockings and the christmas tree PLUS the plate of cookies and glass o' milk and waited to catch Dad in the act.  Well as you may guess we both fell asleep and woke up to the presents under the tree, the stockings full and an empty plate and glass!!!!1  Damn Dad was good.

I also have a Christmas tradition which has been going on for many years.  Don't know why but I dance with the turkey before i stuff it and put it in the oven......don't laugh. :/

Actually more like a ballroom dance around the kitchen, sort of a Ginger Rogers/Fred Astair number.

I, of course, take the lead.  By this time, Mr. T. isn't too good on his feet.

The best was the 1998 , when we went to Ghat to See Ghat Festival and more than 2000 expacts attending that ceremony. Loved it by then.

our first new years in Spain was by far the most interesting every... the food was amazing... our relatives there invited us for a feast they had used the door to make a big table to fit us all which was later removed for  sevillanas (not us off course). In Spain they have the eating of the grapes in which you have to eat a grape for every chime at midnight ... let's just say being the competitive bunch we are we almost spent new years in the emergency room :)
