We live in Liege, does anyone know where we can buy Haggis? Colruyt, lidl, delhaize, spar, aldi, carefour..? Or is there a specialist vendor somewhere in the area?

DrewTheBear I myself can not say 100% for sure where, but considering the variety of meats and other such products in Carrefour, I would say go to any large such and you should be able to find some. In the close by us mega Carrefour they have just about anything you can think of! Except Horlicks - I looked all over all the shelves and did not find it :(

Not sure where you'd find it... I've been here 2 years and never seen it though if you've got a recipe, you can certainly find all the ingredients here (Inter/Ecomarché and Coruyt are good for finding tripe.)

As an aside - you haven't found a place where Tunnock's products can be found here, have you?  I have a terrible weakness for them.

Thanks for those replies; apparently there is a shop which specializes in particularly British products at Stone Manor, Steenhofstraat 28 in Everberg. I'd bet they have a Tunnocks Caramel there too. Who knows, maybe some cereal that I forgot I liked.

Hi, ages ago I mentioned about a shop I found out about (above) which sells British products, if there was something in particular people were looking for that they dont necessarily get here. Well anyway, finally, we went there today. Definitely recommend it - three floors or stuff not just food stuff. There is a surprisingly big supermarket on the ground floor and its got loads of stuff that you forgot you missed if that makes sense! Anyway, didnt see the haggis but was too busy on the breakfast cereal aisle, and im going to force feed my collegues whiskey flavoured fudge on monday.

hannahhadman

I wonder if they have bacon lol i miss uk bacon

I'm currently back in the UK on a visit and I'm going to be stocking up on haggis to bring back, especially since I've never seen it in any of the supermarkets in Belgium.

Guest2944873

That sounds goods, looks like Im a bit late to put in my order in time, but if your wife did bring some back Im still interested in buying some off you so long as it is not too far to drive or there is another option?

Guest2944873

ok I wasnt paying attention, Ill look on the website and try contacting from there...  thanks

Stone Manor  http://www.stonemanor.uk.com/ stocks everything a Brit would need, and is a medium sized supermarket with just products from the UK (inc bacon, and I definatly saw haggis there)
There are two stores, one in Waterloo which I have not visited and the larger store in Everberg (3078)

The prices are a little high, but when you visit you will understand why. They even will accept Argos orders.

There is also http://www.Englishshop.be in Tervuren, which accept online orders and will deliver (sometimes for free)

Yeah the stonemanor shop has been mentiond on a disussion before i keep meaning to go there but i went to UK This sat and got my salad cream and biscuts and tea bags lol

Guest2944873

Yeah but if you go, you need to be cruel to yourself by only taking maybe 20 euros cash, otherwise you'll buy half the shop... stuff you didnt necessarily eat before but buy it anyway just because its there and nowhere else.

VinceUK

Yea ive just restocked on salad cream also! :D
And I really couldnt live without my tetleys.

Yes :)

They have real bacon, we live not far from there and go every couple of weeks.
And more importantly they sell pork for roasting with the skin left on, it's the only place I know of that do this.

It's a brilliant shop.

hannahhadman

Yeah when i went to UK i had to get my friend to buy me stuff incase i bought have of tescos lol but for now im good sal cream tea bags yellow canderel borbon creams custard creams and a big xmas tin of quility street and smoked ham

balesy1974

What people are referring to as 'real bacon' is Danish bacon.

To be honest, I don't miss the stuff, but if I did I'd probably just head to that Stone Manor supermarket like everyone else seems to do. ;)

@DrewTheBear

Hey, the next time I pop over the channel, I'll give you a shout via here and you can tell me how many haggis you'd like me to bring back over for you.

Guest2944873

Ah thats very kind. It sounds like Im some sort of Haggis junky. I cant remember why I wanted it the first time around because it was 29th December, but I was after it recently for St Andrews Day so that I could cook it for the guys at my archery club.

Anyone know where I can buy a haggis in Belgium. I live close to Wavre.

Guest2944873

Yes, there's this place in Antwerp here
And there is the 'Stone Manor' which is closer to you.
And I remember there was a third shop in Belgium but I can't remember where it was and couldn't find on google..

Drew

eunolwin

Thanks Drew. Do you know where in Antwerp?
Stone Manor has two shops - one in Everberg and the other which is smaller in Waterloo. I can give them a call.

PS Sorry I didn't click here but now I see where in Antwerp.
One of them will surely have it.
Thank you
