how to get more points

Do you guys hv g8 idea of getting points in hotel?
Mine hotel can only hv2000 points per stay, no matter how long you stay. But is quite unfair to people like me who's staying long term.I only have to change chains from time to time,it's awfull, thinking about moving and all the packing. Any suggestions?

the intercontinental,i plan to change to crown plaza for a while for the points,they belong to the same group and share the points

A while back I used to use the Marriott / New World Courtyard chain. I don't remember there being a problem with stay duration.
