I am wanting to do a bit of sightsseeing on a hired scooter but only have an australian licence - good idea or not 😯

I was in Dalat recently, was riding around on a scooter with an Australian licence and went past several police no problem. Mind you I never got stopped for a licence check so it could be a case of them turning a blind eye.
