Hi Guys,

I have just been offered a teaching job in konya and am wondering if there are any other ex pats living out there who can tell me what the city is like?

Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend being an expat in Konya. There must be much more job offers in istanbul, ankara and izmir...

Thank you for your advice, quite a few of my Turkish friends have said the same thing :(

well it all depends what exactly you want. A big crowded Istanbul city or a peaceful city with less traffics.

Yes there is no doubt that Istanbul is big & active city, but according to your profession there is a lot of supply of teacher coming to Istanbul, which means  there is a lot of competition that leads to less paid or you can call exploiting.

Where as in konya or any other small city in Turkey the demand for Teachers are increasing, but there is less supply.

Thus actually leads to demand for higher salary & at definitely at higher positions. Yes not to forget your cost of expenses are also low in these smaller cities.
