Dealing with homesickness in Mongolia

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

Being an expat in Mongolia can turn out to be a wonderful human, social or professional adventure... with potential moments of nostalgia and homesickness along the way.

What are your personal tips to prevent homesickness?

How do you deal with such feelings?

Are there shops or stores offering products from your home country in Mongolia? Or maybe venues with music and ambiance from your homeland?

Thanks for sharing your experience,

Priscilla

Well, being homesick is just part of the deal, you are gonna be missing it in whatever country you are in.

I was living aboard for few years at the time. You just get used it.
I am pretty sure there should be few places that might offer you similar products, food, and culture to your home country.

One way to cope with homesickness is going out more and getting more into the culture of the place you are staying in. Adapting to different lifestyle and culture doesn't make you less of a human but more.

If you need someone to talk to, I am more than happy to.
