Getting married to a foreigner, both expats

Here's a tricky one: I'm from the US and my fiancé is from S. Korea. We are both working in Vietnam.

We will still be living in Vietnam after marriage for now, and we both have working visas, so I don't think there's will be an issue here.

However, can anyone give me advice on what the proper steps are? We'll have a wedding in both the US and Korea. We don't need green cards, but should we both be applying for spousal visas for our spouse's country? Can we even do that if the spouse isn't a current resident of their own country?

It's hard to find info online about marrying a foreigner that doesn't focus on getting them a green card. Can anyone share their experiences?
