Is it safe to travel to Djerba these days?

Is it safe to travel to Djerba these days? I plan to go for a weekend break during coming weekend. Anyone has crossed the border recently and can share info? How was the mood / general atmosphere? I heard there might be more instances of crime such as theft / robbery but these may be just rumours. Did anyone experience good or bad things while on recent trip?

I have heard that after the recent speech there were some instances where tunisians attacked many cars crossing the border from Ras Ajdir.

Better to wait untill the unrest settles.

It is not safe now for any car with Libyan NumberPlate
so my advise is to wait or go to Malta

Any new news about travelling across the land border?  We are hoping to travel from Tripoli to Djerba by car in two weeks' time.

Thanks in advance

Just been told that hotels in Djerba closed for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for the info.  I have just spoken to the receptionist at the Hotel Mehari in Djerba, and he said they are open and accepting bookings.  So, my next question is whether we will be able to get across the border if we drive over from Tripoli.  Any info gratefully received.
