uvnpsaradhi,
All great advise, which i will take on board and use, it will be a big transistion and one i have to get used of quickly, but if i am to survive here i will need to change.
i know most of what i have learnd in my career i will need to hold back on and pick up the culture.
the past two days i have learned so much and feel so much better, and now looking forward with excitment this new goal in my life.
Heard the King fahd Causway is closed... any truth in that?
me too don't want it all to fall through at the last minute and be left here in the uk jobless
oh please no this already happened to me in 2008, got a job in Dubai and all was sorted vise etc, and two weeks before my flight Band good old recession the company, turn around and laid off 1000 staff and my job went with it, so i was in that position and it was horrible, out of work and nothing in the pipeline.
fingers crossed this will not be the same i just left my current job and am too now with out a fallback.
Every incident in each country has its own context and hence may not be generalised and may not be apllicable to another Country such as KSA.
yes you are right, andthis is not really the place to talk about what i dont know,
so i will just think positive and relax and wait till i get my Visa through
Woke up feeling great. Weather is nice. Made it to work alive. Life is good.

Wait. It's 2:45 AM. What am I doing up? Guess I'll go to work. Got lots to do and no one to bug me. Excellent time to get in the "zone" and crank out some stuff I need to get done.

Good one!
The dating threads have been interesting. The women seem to be getting in some good digs.
A small thing happened in my apartments last Thurs. A British-expat murdered his roommate, tried to flee to Bahrain, but was caught and is now sweating it out in a Saudi Jail. Yikes!
Wow! I didn't see anything about this on the internet, sounds like they are trying to keep it quiet.
Was his room mate really that annoying?

Apparently annoying enough to die for.
Well seems like its all hush hush...
This is the reality of Saudi, nothing is reported, there could be mass murder and we would not know about it

Hey Civ, if this is your report on a 'small' thing, what on earth would you call a 'big' thing Blimely mate sounds pretty drastic to me. What nationality was the murdered man btw? that might also be a reason why it has not been reported?
In your case, please don't get close to your neighbours

Think a brit as well. Do not know many details and frankly do not want to know.

Oh well, so much for the 'stiff upper lip' and 'turn the other cheek',

Hmmm... Sound advice! I will be monitoring my own neighbourly situation and the benefits of strangulation by sporran
You know who you are!
Civ, could be time to move!

Been trying but not my choice. Company picked the place and has paid a one year lease. Here til July 2011. Then hopefully a compound, not an apartment complex.
