Picked a good week to go home for a few. Leaving tonight and back on the 20th. Hoepfully all this will be history.
If people asks questions about Visas they need answers - Why must questions always be intelectual? What about some comments about the filth and pollution in the beautiful desert? Do people think their rubbish will just disappear into thin air by itself?

First, welcome to the blog. Lots of women on the blog and all with varied interests. Just keep looking at topics and you will see many good ones, some really bad ones, and some good wit. Visa questions are for the long term folks here, the intellectual question will have to be pondered, and the trash does not go away, most of it blows away. Oh and you will love the fresh clean air here.
Hope to see you active in the blog. Best of luck finding some friends, they are out there.
hey guys,
i've just collected my passport from South African embassy.
I'm happy to get a multiple visitor's visa.
excited for my BIG safari trip!

Hey FunkyDG, that's great am very jealous - you will most definitely enjoy the bush, just make sure you do not become the 'dinner'! When are you going, where and for how long?
GWTF, lolz.. yeah, i assure you i'll protect myself. hehehe
i made my itinerary for a 14-day getaway.
i'll be leaving on the 21st of April for Joburg but i'll be spending my easter sunday and monday in Cape Town for Victoria Falls tour, then back to Joburg.
I made reservations in Kruger national Park. But still thinking if i will join the wilderness trail. I'm trying to squeeze my schedule coz i have plans in visiting Pretoria and Livingstone.
While in Joburg, i'll be staying in Balgowan Estate - Sandown.

Excellent itinerary - you will love Kruger and yes for the wilderness tour, just make sure the ranger knows their stuff and doesn't drive too fast. Ask about all the wildlife, not just the Big 5 - there is so much more to the bush than that! Very jealous now!! Enjoy
Hey Funky-guy - enjoy my south africa - PLEASE becareful all the time. You need a good camera because you will have so many memories.
Funky - I'm so jealous! My husband's parents lived in Zambia so we went every summer for a few years and travelled around a bit, and it was beautiful. Going on safari will be amazing I'm sure, I don't know if you've been to Cape Town but It's so beautiful it takes your breath away, actually pretty much all of Africa that I've seen is like that!
Enjoy, have fun and post some pics!
Im SO jealous- Sounds like a great trip! Have a great time!!!!
FD, have a great trip. Me jealous! Actually, I have always thought Africa would be a fun trip, especially S. Africa. Heard it is an awesome place but can be dangerous. Don't do any whoonga while you are there.

Hey good point about the rubbish/waste in the desert - we tend to have rubbish bags with us when we venture out so we can collect up anything near our picnic or camp areas.
I wouldn't want to be the one to consider an awareness campaign in the Kingdom on "keep the Kingdom clean", would you I am sure that would be considered a capital offence to even suggest the Kingdom was full of rubbish
So, what are your plans or thoughts on how to clean up or educate others to clear up their own waste? Would be very interested to hear this.
Sly, Funky-guy wont run naked in the fields he will have to compete with the Rhino first

You're wrong, I bet that the rhino would be distracted by Funky's nakedness and loose
Heard Kruger is HUGE! Size of a US state (forgot which one I was told). Don't get lost or eaten. Oh wait you are coming from Riyadh, maybe you do want to get lost so you can't come back:|
I checked it out, it is the size of the state of Massechusetts.
Good friends and loved ones are hard to come by. Take stock in the ones you have and hold them closely. Tell then you love them and care about them often!

At US Embassy last night for Steak Night. Bomb threat happened. Locked us in. Was forced to stay and eat steak and drink adult beverages until coast clear. Just doing my part as a good citizen to follow directions.

Sweat! I have a friend going home for her daughters wedding. She is going to Kruger and another reserve. I was trying to go but couldn't get off work. I plan on it in the near future. Envy you. Safe adventures to you!

Why are peeps so obsessed with washing their cars here? You wash them one day (sometimes even less than that), and they are dirty the next. They get dirty in one day just sitting there.
hehehhhe this is so true CE
I know i may wote it several times but I am sick of getting used by own fiends and i cant stand to be dependent
