Justin Bieber is Canadian, he's not from the USA. ;)

I am over here in Madagascar which is a couple of hours west by Plane from Mauritius.
I have also been to Mauritius some 12 times and have a general feel for the island.  Having said that I just came back down stairs from asking my teenage daughter what  she and her friends are listening to  which was also an education for me.   They like
Tal  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tal_(singer)
Rihanna https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rihanna

Justin Beber seems to be out of the loop and we all knew he was Canadian LOL

They want smart phones and I got my daughter an I- phone from USA and she is on that all the time with the WIFI I have in the house to her friends from school.

Clothes and shoes are better quality than you will find on this side of the planet even the clothes you find at wal mart are better than the Chinese imports.
Also the girls like the pretty nail polish, make up and jewelry, watches which are also better quality in the USA.

I have been to Seattle- and enjoyed my time there very much especially the San Juan islands and Pike Place fish market and the throwing of the fish....WOW!!!- I have a place in Santa Barbara CA for 31 years.  In a way we are  West coast Neighbors.

Enjoy your time in Maurtius- it is a beautiful place and I am considering moving  my family and children there when it comes time for their high school.

good luck with the teen search for gifts  as I know what that is like  :)
I too am just saying hello and curious to find out what others are saying
Thanks for the good question

Hi,

TBH, watches, shoes and make up are not stuff that one cannot find here.

If you want to bring something as present, I would suggest some more originality like a girl accessory which can be found/bought only in the US or a gift item from a flea market. Can be something for use in everyday life or a unique and creative home deco artifact.

Regarding Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, etc, culturally teenagers here are not really into those stuff.
