Thanks guy. I really would like to go up and see him in concert. You got any more details?

laidbackfreak

nice one will have a look out for him :-)

The Doov

Sad thing is, there will be more people clamoring for the BS Boys than for Mr. Dylan...

No prices listed on website!  So excited, though!!

laidbackfreak

Your probably right Doov, but hopefully that means getting tickets for Bob shouldnt be a problem :-)

WideAwake

Hopefully it's not a hoax.

Dear Mr/Mrs Wide Awake,

I am sorry that we haven’t had any information about this concert that will be held at RMIT Vietnam. I also received some requests like yours. I will keep you informed if the concert is held here.

bobbyray

it should be the real deal.
my friend, who is living in (les moimes?), iowa, claimed that the legend would come to vietnam

laidbackfreak

Yep it does seem a bit odd that the venue he is supposedly playing at is not aware of the Gig. Let's hope it happens :-/

laidbackfreak

I got told last night this has been confirmed, VIP tickets $100 woohoo should be on sale next week....

although id like to hear it from anyone else.. ?

nguyensea

I hope he does tour in Vietnam but I doubt it. His website (bobdylan.com) doesn't list it.

laidbackfreak

Looking less likely now as one of the major sponsors has pulled out.

xpression

damn, got really excited when i saw this thread. only 3 asian dates mentioned on the officiate dylan site. im still hoping it happens..

laidbackfreak

All change again, just been told its locked in now :-)
and It's on his tour dates here :-
bobdylan.com/tour

woohooooo Tickets on sale :-

saigonsoundsystem.com for 900,000 VND for general admission and 2,500,000 for VIP. Tickets can also be purchased at Juice (49 Mac Thi Buoi, D1), The Boathouse (40 Lily Rd, APSC Compound, 36 Thao Dien, D2) and Boomarang (The Crescent, Phu My Hung, District 7).

best news ive read on this forum :D thanks for posting. its good to see HCMC on the dylan site ;) definitely gonna book my tickets today or tmr. im wondering wat the VIP benefit is. is it better seating (closer to stage)? boblinks.com says its priority parking, access to VIP area n better food/beverage? access to VIP area would mean meeting the man himself, i guess? i'd be pretty happy with 900K if it means im close enough to the stage, thats all :D

laidbackfreak

VIP means backstage pass.. +all the other trimmings to go with it.
either way despite he may be past his best its still gonna be a blast :-)

xpression

hell yeah ;) never thought i'd get to see dylan live, much less in vietnam. i hear he's doing a pretty good mixed up set of old n new stuf.. should be awesome

laidbackfreak

ok so its this Sunday, whos going ??

tmt4788

got a ticket already.. cant wait until sunday

xpression

yeah im going! btw, apparently bob dylan has requested no photography at the concert? i mean, i know it says so on the ticket etc, but ive been to many concerts in singapore, with the same no photo rule, but pretty much everyone is snapping n videoing the entire thing.. i'd like to have a couple of pics as memories. anyone taking a camera? surely they wont confiscate it? lol

laidbackfreak

It's kinda hard to stop people taking pictures\video these days, given that nearly everyone carries a mobile and they nearly all have video\picture capabilities.

I've seen the same thing at gigs in the UK everyone videoing favorite songs etc, not long after they appear on you-tube n the like.

I'm certainly taking my phone and may well take my camera.

I'm moving out of my house Sunday, so it looks like I'll be singing this to myself:

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you ?
People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall"
You thought they were all kiddin' you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin' out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?

You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street
And now you find out you're gonna have to get used to it
You said you'd never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but know you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?
You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all come down and did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discover that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?

Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made
Exchanging all precious gifts
But you'd better take your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?
