Any updates regarding actually being able to get a prescription and finding the medication for ADHD in Vietnam?

Supposing price isn't an issue, can it be found in pharmacies?

Hi,

A google search for the brand/name of the medication and "buy" and the city where you will visit, that will get you hits for pharmacies that advertise it, if you get heaps of hits chances are you can get it, it also may have the price, a bit more digging will get you the price.

Failing that a visit to an international hospital to get medication that is available here would be the next step.

Plan "C" would be bring enough for your stay, current tourist visa is 30-day so shouldn't be a problem.

The name of the medication would be a good start.

I have been following this topic for about 6y.

there was a very small window during which I could actually get and fill my prescriptions for concerta 36mg.

my trajectory was:

find the importer for concerta in vietnam. Contact them through zalo.

Be told to go to the mental health hospital in d5 for a prescription.

Doctor there wrote a prescription; to be filled at Pasteur pharmacy.

Pasteur pharmacy doesn’t accept the prescription from that doctor, told me to go a doctor in d7.

D7 doctor prescribes the medicine.

Pharmacy fills it (must be within 3 days from prescription date). 1.8mil for 30 pills.

On my last trip to my usual doctors home clinic in d7 (as I understand one of the few doctors who is allowed to prescribe it), she said the pharmacies (only the few ones that are allowed to sell it) are sold out. Upon contacting my usual and another pharmacy, the response was that the health ministry is no longer allowing this medicine to be sold. So that’s why nowadays, maybe no doctors prescribe it anymore.

see my next post for more info on where to get replacements for methylphenidate.

Hey Doctor Bram, D.C.

Couldn't you just take some overpriced vitamins & supplements, become a vegetarian and get adjusted once a week?

That's what my chiropractor used to recommend.

Any of the international hospitals or clinics have Doctors that speak English, Supplements depending on what can be bought online via Lazada/Shopee etc or many pharmacies stock depending on what it is.
