The Vietnamese are nice and friendly. I recall there are some social gatherings organized on this site at times. Not sure when the last one was as i dont always come here..
Keep a look out or check out the threads and you may find out when the next one is.

Away from that, there is quite a lot to see and do in Vietnam. Many beautiful places and excursions to visit.

The Vietnamese coffee is    and sipping with new friends is a good way to enjoy friendship and while tasting new coffee 

It's been a month since I've been here in hcmc.. But life is a bit dull. Haven't met new friends and I've been staying home all day! I wanted to explore the city and met new friends.

In less than a month you have got offers from quite a few who want to be friends with you. This is great news and response for you. Hope you can meet up, enjoy each others company and make wonderful new friends.   

If the others are new to Vietnam and you all live close to each other, i recommend going to visit some nice places there. There are many wonderful places in district 1 and other districts. So some weekends if you have time, make sure sure you can visit some of the tourist attractions which are definitely worth seeing. 
If sight seeing isnt always feasible, the coffee shops and parks are a good place to be too.   

Theres lots to see and do in Vietnam, you will not be disappointed there especially if you have a nice group of friends to socialize with. 

Enjoy your time there and hope you make good friends there.

by the way Vietnamese coffee is very good
