Hi,
My brother met a Vietnamese girl & got engaged within 1 month of knowing her... He is separated but not divorced. Are there any laws or issues he has to be aware of. Please help. Thanks. Sue

I'm no legal expert, but it seems it is fine for him to get engaged, but he cannot marry until the divorce is totally legally finalised, and that could take some time. That should be the main legal issue, is he OK or does he feel too rushed as the relationship is moving so fast?

If he wants to get a partner visa to bring his Vietnamese fiancee to Australia so they can be together I have written a partner visa full guide on how he could do that, with details of the migration agent that I used and free printable. Hope it helps!
