Hi,we are an Egyptian family coming to Ottawa next June, we have a residency in Canada. I have three kids 18 years old, 13 years old, and 7 years old. I am looking for a small house to rent. Also, me and my husband are looking for a job....my husband has a big experience in the Hotels field, now he is the Director HR in one of the biggest hotel (International Company) in Damas Syria. For me i am speaking three languages French, English, and Arabic.Do you think we can find jobs? i know it is not easy, but is it impossible?

Christine

Marhaba Mme Fayez, welcome to Canada.

Juste yesterday I went to a restaurant with a Moroccan family and they have guests that I met for the first time and you know hat ? they are Egyptian :)

Everything in Canada is possible, but not easy. Everybody with a long-term WILL  and hard working, will have his own place.
It’s good to come during June, it’s summer and will be more comfortable than winter.

For the house try to search in kijiji.ca, or craiglist.ca . That will give you an idea about the logging in Ottawa .

Here is the one for kijiji :
http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/f-housing-W0QQCatIdZ34

and craiglist:
http://ottawa.en.craigslist.ca/apa/

About the possibility to find a job that is a hypothetic question, nobody could answer. Let’s be positive and when you will come here contact organizations that help immigrant for job and also the employment agencies .

Welcome again

Abdel

Hi .

Welcome to Canada.

I live in Ottawa for 24 years.

Call Noreen at PMA Consulting at 613-742-5778 ext234 to find a a 3 bedroom condo where I live. I also suggest calling Minto, a builder, at 613-230-7051 and ask for House for rent. You did not give me anything about your background except the three languages you speak. I suggest that your husband should apply online for different Hotels. If you need any help you can call me at 613-736-1631 (Gamal) I am an Egyptian-Canadian too. Have a nice and safe trip to Ottawa

Hi Everybody,
I'm a new Expat.com member and I hope I can find answers to some of my questions.
I'm a moroccan, married to a moroccan/canadian and have 2 kids (8 yrs & 6 yrs). We are considering moving to Canada and we have two options : Montreal or Ottawa. I personally prefer the English speaking part of Canada. I was told that Ottawa was the best place to raise kids. So I have so many questions related to education, weather (I heard that winter is so tough and long), job opportunities …
I’m still hesitating about moving to Canada as we make a good living in our country. My concern is mainly education for my kids. By the way, I speak Arabic, French and English and have a good experience in the administration field (worked as an executive assistance in different companies). Would it be easier for me to find a job ?
Thank you for any information re education, jobs, cost of living, job opportunities etc … !
