What are your MVV experiences?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The IND has been known to take the full 90 days in many cases we have heard on here.  Give the IND a call if it will help, their contact details are on the contact section of their website (link).  All I can add to that is that Covid is causing havoc amongst the Dutch civil service (of who the IND are a part) and last nights announcement regarding home working will not have helped.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Cynic. Is it fine for me to have applied with this unmarried partner sponsorship, even though I am an EU citizen? I looked at verification against EU law, but we aren't married and have never cohabited. This is why I chose to do it this way, is it a valid way to get the resident permit even if it's intended for Dutch nationals and third country nationals?

If you've never lived together, they may well reject your sponsorship of his application - they are looking for an existing relationship; your boyfriend will have to apply in his own right.  Still, let's see what happens, there is only another day to run.

BLaura16

Sure, but we can prove that we have been together for 3 years, even if we never lived together. And the there was no stipulation to have lived together for the unmarried partner sponsorship? (just that the relationship is stable), no?

BLaura16

Update: the IND is now 2 days past its legal decision period and we haven't heard anything from them... crickets (no extension, no approval, no rejection, no phone call, no email, a big fat 0,). We've had to send them a letter to 'declare them in default', by which they have another 2 weeks to do something about it.
So effectively, the period of time for wait is a maximum of 2 months and 2 weeks by which it's fine if they don't reply.

Hi again.

Sorry I missed this.

To answer your question; the very first question it asks you in the unmarried partner sponsorship application process is "Have you lived together for at least 6 months continuously, directly before this application?".

I think that's pretty clear in regards to this visa.

What does your boyfriend do - has he considered applying for a work visa in his own right?

Hope this helps.

No response from the IND as of today. The legal decision from the IND was the 4th of November and on the 5th of November, we sent a letter of notice of default. It is now Tuesday so they should definitely have received it by now; does anyone know if they have to let you know that they received it so that the 2 weeks term can start counting down?

Hello,

I'm hired from a sponsor company in Netherlands. They have applied around 37 days ago with my wife's documents. Our employment contract will start on 1 December. That's why IND still didn't respond ? What do you think accordingly your experiences?

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The IND can take up to 90 days to turn around visa applications.  If your employer is concerned, they (as the sponsor) should perhaps then contact the IND and ask for an update.

Hope this helps.

Hello Cynic,

Thank you for your response. What a day!

After I wrote to forum, we are informed by my new employer. IND made its decision and, we got approval letter.

Thank you again and I wish patience to everyone. The process was stressful for us, especially after a month...

Have a nice evening...

Hello everyone,

My employer applied for an highly skilled migrant visa for me on August 11 and the decision period is over as of November 11 and no news from IND.
Finally we could reach to “Information Center” and they have found out that IND did not send a letter for payment yet!
When we have asked during decision period no one has informed us this way and they kept telling us to wait till decision period ends.

This is very unfortunate but they are very kind and trying to make the process faster directly contacting to my employer.

So far this is what happened. Really looking forward to get this resolved and have my mvv on my passport.

Happy weekend!

Hi,

In my case, I took 37 days with same visa category.

For the information, IND, of course yes follows Fast track but they have rights with law and it would take up three months.

Hello, my case has been received by a caseworker and they gave us two weeks to provide additional documents for my residence permit. Those additional documents have now been submitted. Do you know how long it generally takes for a case to be decided once it is assigned to someone and they have made contact? I imagine it can't take too long now as it's already been over 3 months and we've submitted the additional documents within the timeline.

Dykes

Hi Kitty,

My case was settled two days after providing the additional documentation. It goes pretty fast once it is assigned to someone.

Me and my partner are going to apply for MVV but we will meet again in January for a month or so, do you think it is better to wait for that meeting? or should we just apply now and can update it through the course of time? (we already have pictures, messages, statements from other people etc.) We are just thinking what could really help us better.

Dykes

Hello Inexile,

You need to check the specific requirements for your country, but generally speaking: yes, you need to legalize the document regardless of its multilingual nature!

The legalization makes the document valid in a foreign country, it is not related to the language of the document. For instance, I had documents issued within the European Union itself, in English, that still needed to be legalized. So please check IND's website and they will give you specific guidelines on this matter.

hi. I am currently living in Netherlands under my work permit: 1 year contract. However, me and my Dutch boyfriend would like to apply for the MVV based  on living with long time partner. Can I possibly apply for this MVV while I am here in Netherlands?

gracesaribay

To my experience you have to apply MVV to your origin of country. You have to do your inburgering exam there for you to be able to get a short stay visa. But in your situation its a bit different because you’re holding a working visa for a year. But maybe you can apply for MVV after your contract or exit to the Schengen area. For assurance maybe you can check the IND website or better if you make a call and ask questions about your concerns. Law in the Netherlands always change every year i guess. I hope this could be a little help.

rubyresu

thank you for your inputs. I will check with the IND.

Hello Everyone

I have applied for the MVV of my spouse in the last week of February 2022. IND acknowledged the receipt and asked for payment, it was paid and the receipt was also acknowledged by IND in the first week of March 2022. Last week the status of the application moved to "Aanvraag in behandeling" and it has stayed there like that. Does anyone know what is the leadtime for a decision from this point onwards?

From what I have seen online, the decision generally follows within a day or two. We are feeling a bit anxious with the status stuck there for a week. Is it normal for this time of the year with a backlog? Any replies or inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Cynic

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

MVV visas normally take  90 days to come through.

Hope this helps.

@Cynic .....thank you for the reply. Did you mean 90 days as the general period or after the status has moved to "Aanvraag in behandeling"?

Hi again.

I mean 90 days from the receipt of a correctly completed application.

@Cynic

Hi Cynic...its me again. It has been a wild 2 days. I read your reply and resolved to be patient. Today I checked our status and it shows as "Aanvraag is afgehandeld" but there is no other indicator as to the decision. Is this normal and will a letter follow? Many thanks for your guidance again.

Cynic

Hi again.

The next communication you will receive is the notification of your MVV being granted, or denied, there is no interim notification until they contact you again; as I said before, this can take up to 90 days from the receipt of your correctly completed application.

Hi Everyone,

I have a question. After receiving the mvv approval, what are the documents does one need to take to the appointment for the mvv sticker? Is it the approval letter, the Mvv issue form and your passport only?
Cynic
It varies, you've listed the main ones, but the letter you get will list everything they want from you.
kmafille

@Cynic thank you so much for your reply👍

@RParty Hi, May I know how did you apply to IND? By post mail or by online?

I just applied for an MVV application for my family and a son (me as a sponsor) by postNL, I sent it from Enschede. According to track and trace, my docs are already in Postbus IND on 9 April. However, till today 20 April, I haven't received any confirmation receipt yet.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hi everyone,

My company (which is a recognized sponsor) applied for my High Skilled Migrant visa on 13th April, 2022. Its been almost three weeks today, 5th May 2022. I am in India, I understand it takes 2-4 weeks of processing time but my partners HSM (applied separately by his company), came in about two weeks. So, this gets me worried, any ideas with people having experiences?

My advice is to just wait & stop worrying about it (because that's what I did haha). Eventually it will be approved & everything will be fine.

For me it took more than 8 weeks for the initial approval. So it is possible to take 8 weeks or even 12 weeks also

Hello Everyone,

If any recent applicant is there for High Skilled Migrant (HSM) VISA the please let me know the latest turnaround time IND takes. I can understand from this forum that for High Skilled Migrant (HSM) VISA also it takes near around 4 weeks.

Date of application by Dutch Employer: 20th June, 2022

If any recent applicant can reply that that will be a great help as this waiting period is increasing my anxiety  day by day.

Thanks in advance.
