Any expat in Phu Quoc?

stddl

Hello all,

I just come back to VN for trying my luck one more time and hope that I will have a peaceful time in Phu Quoc.

Any advice and sharing experiences are appreciated.

Thanks,

TTKLD

Check out the local language centers, there are some expats there.

What do you mean by "trying my luck?"

Thank you. I will do that.

I come here to relax and have a peaceful time but it seems I had had bad experiences with merchants and restaurants they have over charged me. I heard Phu Quoc is better but so far there were some bad places, I have to ask the price before order or buying.

Well live and learn,

I've been in PQ for one year after first visiting in 2012 and 13. It's great. Very few permanent expats around. Locals very friendly and very few clear rip offs which I just walk away from if it happens and blame myself for not checking first. Most places display prices. Driving the scooter can be hazardous but that's the same everywhere in VN, just drive slowly and be on heightened awareness.
