Ladies & Gentlemen,

Been receiving a lot of messages about Singapore Club of Thailand.

I would like to share some further information:

https://www.mfa.gov.sg/Overseas-Mission … n-Thailand

They are one of the two clubs acknowledged by the Singapore Consular in Bangkok, Thailand

The Singapore Club of Thailand (SCOT) members share a common bond with Singapore. It serves as a social network avenue for Singaporeans and friends of Singapore residing in Thailand to find support through meaningful club activities that promote friendships and showcase the many colourful facets of Singaporean culture away from home.

SCOT's activities include lunch and dinner get-togethers, festival get-togethers, charity events to benefit the local community, and cultural visits, among other things.

For more information about SCOT - www.singaporeclubthailand.org

PS: I am not part of the SCOT Executive Committee, but i have been attending events arranged by them and find them meaningful and enjoyable whilst mingling with the Singapore community. Just trying to bind Sinkies together. See you guys soon

Recent SCOT activity - 2nd March 2020

A few of the SCOT members came together to try their hands at Macrame.

Macrame - a versatile craft that has its roots originally from the 13th-century Arabic culture and was hugely popular back in the 1970s.

Knotting seems fun!

From the Singapore Consular in Bangkok, Thailand: 19 March 2020

The Thai government has declared that Thailand is at COVID-19 alert Stage 2 (i.e. limited and containable spread, mostly confined to overseas returnees and foreigners from affected countries). Thailand has stepped up health monitoring measures at all ports of entry. Travellers arriving in Thailand from Singapore will be subjected to temperature screening upon arrival and departure. Those with fever and respiratory symptoms will be subject to further medical evaluation. Thailand may also have travel restrictions and other measures against travellers arriving from other countries.

As the COVID-19 situation is developing, Singaporeans should check these websites for the latest information on travel restrictions/advisories imposed by the Thai government:

- Thai Ministry of Public Health (available in English and Thai)
https://ddc.moph.go.th/viralpneumonia/eng/index.php
- Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore
https://www.thaiembassy.sg/
- Tourism Authority of Thailand (Singapore Office)
http://www.tourismthailand.org/sg
- Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand
http://www.caat.or.th/en/

Singaporeans are advised to defer all travel abroad. Please also refer to the Singapore Ministry of Health’s press release of 18 March 2020 on additional precautionary measures. From 20 March 2020, 2359 hours (Singapore time), all travellers (including Singaporeans, Permanent Residents, Long Term Pass holders, and short-term visitors) entering Singapore will be issued with a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN). As Singapore’s measures will evolve according to the global situation, Singaporeans should check the MOH website (https://www.moh.gov.sg/covid-19) for the latest updates.

In addition, Singaporeans should closely monitor the news and official announcements from both the Singapore and Thai governments regarding the COVID-19 situation.

Singaporeans who require consular assistance may contact the Singapore Embassy in Bangkok at the contact number below. Singaporeans already in Thailand are also strongly encouraged to e-register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at [http://]https://eregister.mfa.gov.sg/ so that they can be contacted should the need arise.
