I have owned guns for sports. Pistol shooting requires a lot of mental discipline - you're more trying to beat the gun and yourself rather than the other shooters.
However, if I felt I needed a gun to protect myself, I'd move to a place I didn't.

@stefanplate I’m not sure what rock you live under but if you think more gun laws are the answer, then you’re a special kind of stupid.  In the US, cities with the strictest gun laws also have some of the highest murder or crime rates involving a gun. . If someone wants a gun, for whatever reason, they will still get a gun.  You can’t stop a bad guy from breaking the law by making more laws.  Disarming responsible gun owners only makes them more vulnerable and unable to protect themselves.

Let me know when you find the place where there is not the 2% that don't care if they steal or kill. In my neighborhood we all have guns so the 2% go elsewhere.
