Purchasing a car on Roatan

Hi We own an house on the Island of Roatan and are considering the purchase of a used car to get around. Are there requirements for registering/licensing? How do we make sure the taxes are paid? What are we not thinking about?

Be careful of the duty to bring a car into Roatan. It can be very high

Anacaribe (Company) in Coxen Hole, they are a custom broker that can help you with cost. Might be cheaper to purchase on the mainland and bring over. Also , there are people on the island that can help you pay your taxes.
