Expat job banking/risk management

Jamaich

Hi,

In the next year or so I am looking to move to Kuala Lumpur for work. I am a Risk Manager in a Bank in London with 6 years experience out of university and would not be relocating with my current company - I have worked for world renowned financial institutions. I have a number of highly respected professional qualifications within my field (CFA, actuarial).

Please could someone give me advice around whether I could realistically expect to land a job in KL and how would be best to go about it? I understand I would need a prospective employer to sponsor a work permit - is this typically a big challenge.

Thanks for any advice anyone can provide!

The Banking sector is extremely difficult unless you have skills that are not available in the Malaysian workforce.  You could try this website: https://www.efinancialcareers.my/search

The employment pass process has to be initiated and approved before you enter Malaysia.
