Opening a Bank Account

PundaSmith

Hello,

Good morning.

I am Ghanaian resident in the US.

I want to open a non-resident bank account in Ghana.  I am interested in only a basic Ghana currency account - maybe I will consider a foreign exchange account later.

Since I am out of the country, what is the process involved?  Can I just upload the needed documents, or do I need to have a proxy - someone - go in to represent me?

  Which bank(s) will you recommend?

thanks - PS

If you look online you will find various banks offer this facility. I found Fidelity Bank and Stanbic Bank but there may be others. I suggest you find one that doesn't charge for foreign currency accounts. We have one with Ecobank which doesn't charge.
