Planning to visit Hanoi and mong cai in April. Intend to visit Dongxing also. Looking for must do activities off the tourist path

How are you travelling? That makes a big difference in deciding where to go. How long do you have in vietnam?

Flying into Hanoi and traveling to Mong Cai. I don't know if by bus or motorbike yet, it's a 7 hr trip by bus. Once in mong cai, plan to go over the border to dongxing, check out the white water rafting, beach, etc and return to Hanoi. 3 weeks. Any ideas of things to do for a couple would be appreciated
