The best apps for expats in Cyprus

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello,

We invite you to share information regarding some of the apps that have helped to facilitate your move abroad in Cyprus. This will help expats-to-be who are making the move as well.

Which apps did you use while preparing your move to Cyprus?

What apps do you use the most for your everyday life in Cyprus: whether it's for transport, managing finances, general information, learning the language of your host country, leisure activities, etc.?

How does this technology help you in your everyday life as an expat?

Which apps would you recommend to expatriates in Cyprus and why?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Like most people we use the following apps for contact with family and friends Facebook, Messenger,e-mail Twitter, Skype, Whatsapp, Viber, and the like

As we live here we need to have an efficient means of changing currency and there are lots of currency exchange mechanisms out there = Transferwise (my current fave) Currency Fair, Currency Transfer, Currency Solutions and many more and most have android apps available

Other options for currency holding cards can be found here

Google Maps and Waze are useful. Website wise Bazaraki is pretty good

I also find that the wanted.for sale, for rent and hires pages / groups on facebook particularly useful = especially once  you ve arrived and are starting up as the startup prices here can be steep so buying good quality second hand stuff is handy
