I lived in German 20 years ago, for about 10 years. I met my wife there. She is Romanian. We were marrried in Frankfurt and lived in Nurenberg. Our daughter was also born there. She graduates college this May. With her finishing school my wife and I are wanting to return to Germany to live and retire.  I would love to meet and talk to people who have made this journey already.

Hallo! My name is Sonia and i am a 21 year old female from Greece. I get my bachelor degree in Pedagogy in a year and currently start learning Deutch/ german language.
I am thinking of moving to Germany in the futute either to do my masters or/ and work as teacher.
This plan is kinda long term cause i know i have things to prepare first for this to happen so i would say i am planning to move in about 2-3 years from now. I got to finish the bachelor , learn the german and save some money.
I am in the beginning of this process but i am very excited and optimistic about the whole thing.
Any general advice you would give me?
Like even which German city would be a better place to relocate for my situation?

The "better" place to relocate to will be the place you find a job in.
Keep your options open in that respect!

To become a teacher in Germany, you need very good German skills - at least C1 or better. You also need, in addition to your pedagogy degree, at least two subjects you specialised in during your studies and thus can teach the kids.
There are plenty of (mostly female) teachers for languages and social sciences, so your chances in that field are slim. On the other hand, there is a shortage of teachers in maths, science and engineering. If you still have a choice, opt for those to have god job chances in Germany!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Maya and I am planning to move to Germany hopefully within a few months so that I my live with my boyfriend of seven years. I live in the USA and I have just graduated from college  with my bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Marketing but I am a bit concerned about finding a job and obtaining my visa. My college ranked number three nationally for fashion merchandising and fourth for design. My German is poor but I do self study and plan on taking courses in the future. If anyone has any advice I'd be willing to listen.

Looking forward to hearing from you all,
Maya

Fashion marketing is not my field, so I cannot help much, but I imagine that, as with any job where understanding customer's needs is paramount, very good German might be required.
