My office is in Delhi, my manufacturers are in Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and I had long time stayed in Noida in 2017. Im planning to get back there in this May after China and have the trip to the south - Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. It's my pleasure to connect with expats in India. Dear all,

I’m Ken Japanese, will move to Gurgaon very soon on late March.
(I’m currently in Vietnam where I’ve stayed for 3 years)
I will work as a business consultant in an Indian firm.

I like singing in the choir, traveling /adventures and having some delicious foods (not very big fan of spicy foods though).
I’m very looking forward to move to India and learn many things not only about job or businesses, but also about lives.

I am willing to have chance for many communication and information exchange here.

P.S.
Seems like the housing information doesn’t have information of Gurgaon. Pity..
Should I look at New Delhi?

Best regards,
Ken

Hi All,

I've been in New Town, Kolkata, India, on and off since March last year.

Spent most of the time getting my company registered, opening bank accounts etc/..etc, now looking for suitable premises to open my first English bar / restaurant in Kolkata. All being well, the plan is to roll-out in other major cities in India.

It would be nice to get some feedback from other members in a similar business; also, if there are any social meet-up groups or places expats frequent in Kolkata.

Cheers,

Visho

Ken.Oz

Thank you so much!
I really appreciate many nice people here!

Hi folks!

We're seriously looking at moving to India.  Goa is on the list of possible destinations but we're still researching.  And will in all likelihood visit a few places before deciding.

Both of us are self employed so we'll definitely need internet.  Doesn't have to be super fast, but reliable is essential.

Ideally, we'd like to live outside of any major cities, I'm aware that might not play well with the need for good internet.  But essentially, we don't want to be around too much hustle and bustle.  We're happy to drive an hour or so into the nearest big town or city.

So the things I'm looking at now are; potential areas to live (specifics on safety and internet), prices to buy property, prices on buying a vehicle, private medical care costs, ballpark figures of monthly expenses.

And in terms of visas, I'm trying to figure out what will work for us since we're self employed.

Thanks for having me here, I'm looking forward to connecting and learning from other expats.

Hi. I'm Phol, a filipina planning to get married with my Indian boyfriend. I will go to Delhi on April 18 with 60days e-visa. He is in Dubai right now that's why I will be the one who will process our court marriage in Delhi. (I visited India twice already. That's why I think I can process it even he can't be with me)

As per Special Marriage Act 1954, I need to stay in India at least 30 days before giving the notice. So, I am planning to stay in a hostel. Then proceed to the filing of Notice of Intended Marriage with 30 days notice if there is any objection. If no objection, my soon-to-be-husband will come to Delhi for the official court marriage.

If my 60 days e-visa is not enough, I will apply for a visa extension to FRRO as I've read that from there they will be granted a 15 to 30-day visa extension for critical reasons of death, sickness, MARRIAGE or flight disruption.

After getting the marriage certificate, we will convert my Tourist Visa to X Visa.

Can anyone tell me if our plan is possible?

I need some help also regarding the requirements I need to bring to India.
-DO I NEED TO BRING AN ATTESTED CENOMAR AND AFFIDAVIT OF SINGLENESS FROM DFA?

Please  I need an answer.

Thank you. Godspeed.
=)

Vaune Everis

Hi! My name is Vaune.  And I have fallen in love... with Delhi. <3

I was there just last month, on a 2 - week vacation.  Now that I am back home in the Philippines, all I can think of is going back.  I met new friends in India, experienced their colorful culture first hand.  I told them about my plans to relocate to Delhi. They suggested that I apply for jobs online.  And I have been, but to no avail.

I have a 6 - year experience in reservations sales with a global hotel corporation, and to be honest, I'm starting to feel a little discouraged.  I still so want to fly back to Delhi, though.  That hasn't changed.

I'm planning on applying for a second evisa (tourist) for June 2018, so I can go back and submit my resume in person to different companies, different hotels, and even BPOs.  It's such a risk, and I've never done anything like this before.  It feels so new.  I don't even know the likelihood of me getting hired within a month or two of doing walk ins.  Does anybody know what my chances could be if I do that? Feeling helpless, excited and desperate to go back... and relocate to my Delhilove <3

Hi Gema!

Have you explored and decided which region you would like to work at?

If you could share a bit more information about your experience and skills, fellow expats would be able to help you better in finding right startup for you. I am already connected wit a few startups and even NGOs in India. I am from Ahmedabad, the western most city of India.

Also, there is a separate forum for job seekers, you can post your query there too.

Please share your thoughts!

Hello everyone! I’m Irene, from Barcelona, Spain. I have never been in India but I’m quite excited, my husband has been offered a job there, in Vadodara, and we are considering moving with our 7-years old son.

If all goes right, we will be moving to Vadodara in about 6-9 months. Is anyone living there? I would really love to speak to someone that can advice about best areas in the city to look for schools and homes. We will be doing a first exploratory trip in October, so if any of you are in Vadodara, please let me know!

Thank you.
