How about yours?

Yvonneyipyip

Mine has been 5 weeks and still pending :(

ludiq999

Guys give them time. 6 weeks to 8 weeks is quite normal at the moment. Good luck!

vickyjaya

Thanks for your support.kind info bcoz  3 months 15 days AFTER get my EP is approved.

Yvonneyipyip

Hi Vicky,

May I know did MOM get back to you on anything during the 3 months?
Or you just wait for 3 months?

Thanks,
Yvonne.

vickyjaya

Just wait ...anytime has changed your status.hope u bro.

Elnino09

Hey - did you get your EP? Or still pending? Mine was applied on 24 April. Still in pending status.

polarbear99

after 1 month and 1 week after, my friend receive email from MOM:
================
As we need to carry out more checks, it will take at least 3 months to review your application. Each case will be assessed holistically, taking into account applicant-related criteria, input from other agencies, and whether fair consideration has been given to workers in Singapore.

We will convey the outcome or any additional information to your prospective employer directly.

Yvonneyipyip

Mine was applied on April 5th and now still pending. MOM came back to ask for more academic documents in mid May, I've submitted two weeks before :(

polarbear99

For those who pending for 80, 90 days, did you guys eventually get EP approved?

xmm83

I would say that it can be good or bad.. depends.
If they are sure about reject, you'll get the reject quickly.
If they are not sure but want to verify more things, you have more chances to be approved if all their checks come out clean and good.
If everything you say in the resume and the application is true and can be verified, you still hold chances to get approved.. if you lie on any of those things and they find out, then you certainly wont get it.
I guess is common sense.

Btw, good luck. Im also pending for my EP.. 8 days and counting.

Keanoidd

Still waiting and keeping positive!

My application was sent in on 3 May 2018, and, on 3 June, I received an email from the MOM that they will take at least three months to review my EP application.

I will hit the 3-month mark from my initial application on 3 August.

I’m hoping for approval soon! I hope you get yours, too!

What do you think, why are some applications take many months?

You can read my long post about the topic to understand what is going on during a work pass application and which factors determine how long it takes (as well as what the approval chances are):

hey,
was your EP approved on 3rd August?

Sadlig_C

Hello guys !
Just wanted to share my EP story with you as I've been reading this forum for the past 3 months.Early May I've got a job offer from an IT services Singaporean based company, 7k salary.
I'm french,I have 6 years of experience with 18 months related to the position I've been hiring for. Both my masters degrees are not related to the position (swithed my career 18 months ago from marketing to IT).
EP was applied on May 16th.
About a week after MOM asked the company if I had any diplomas related to the position. I do have 4 certifications in this specific field/product, all passed during the last 18 months. The company provided those certifications to the MOM.
On June 4th MOM sent a letter to my company saying they would need about 3 months to answer the application ("we need to carry out more checks and will take about 3 months to review this application", explaining they're investing holistically every application to make sure FCP was given to the workforce in SG)
From this date the company put the job offer on the Job Banks for one month. Two people applied, none were qualified. I'm a specialist in a niche market so I was not really surprised. Late July they had a letter from the job banks stating that they did not find a suitable candidate. They provided this letter to the MOM which replied that they will give an answer in the expected timeline, about 3 months from the date of application.
On August 14th the status of my EP changed from Pending (only status I had throughout the whole process) to approved !
It took exaclty 90 days from the date of application, May 16th to August 14th.
To all the people waiting, good luck, don't lose faith, it looks like it's harder and harder to get an EP but I guess that's the price of having the privilege to live in Singapore. Thank you to beppi and surya2k for all the informations out there, helps a lot !
Cheers

Keanoidd

Hi! I also got my approval after a little over 100 days of waiting.

I’ll post more information when I get my EP on hand.

I hope everyone gets good news soon, too!

surya2k

Little over 100 days? That’s amazing. Good to hear. Patience is the key thing here. Yes, please share your case as it will help others in future. Good luck

Hi,

My employer in Singapore has offered me a job and the immigration agent has filed an EP on my behalf. It has been almost 15 days but yet to get any news from them. What I wanted to highlight here, my application is applied under ICT: Intra Corporate Transfer , which means, I am employed in the same company in Bangkok and would like to get transfered in SIN on a new position.

I have total 11 years of experience out of which 6 years in Bangkok working in the same company and have strong industry experience.  As long as minimum salary is concerned,   I have been offered a decent salary.

Do you all know if ICT gets some benefit?

Thanks.

surya2k

No extra privilege at MoM. It will go through same processes as any other work pass and the employer has to clarify why they hired a foreigner for this position (did they try locally here and couldn’t find a skilled person). You can check online your application status, visiting MoM website. Good luck

My EP was applied on 13 June 2018. From that day till now it's still pending.

I try to contact HR but they also said there's nothing updated from MOM.

There's nothing I can do but wait...

Megan Braks

Hi everyone, I’m new in the group mainly because I have similar concern...

My employer gathered my documents 5 weeks ago for s-pass application. However even though I have a constant communication with my employer, they cannot provide an update to me regarding the status of my application. They said that they’re following up with MOM also. Today they proposed that they will re-apply me and downgrade to work permit to see if it will be accepted. I was anxious about it and doubtful even though they promised my original job offer salary won’t be changed but for the sake of work permit bracket they will put lower on paper.

Then I had an idea just this evening to take the SAT. I was surprised to find out that the result says I am not eligible for either e-pass or s-pass, even though I already had 5 yrs total of work experience, a bachelor’s degree, and 1 yr work experience in Singapore with S-pass last 2015-2016. If not for an emergency back home, I would not have resigned and gave up my job last time.

Hope you can advise what might be wrong or what went wrong. Should I wait or give up.

Thank you so much and appreciate your responses.

surya2k

May be you are not eligible because the revised minimum salary S$2,200 didn’t meet.

Be careful, if your employer declaring false information at MoM then it’s a punishable offence, including MoM put heavy fine on them.

Work permits are given to very lower section of jobs most at labour section.

People are waiting for their pass approval in months before its get approved but in your case it’s 5 weeks since application was submitted but you and your employer are desperate that they want to re-apply by lowering into work permit?

Be aware - It only bring down as suspicious at MoM eyes. Good luck

beppi

My advice: Do NOT agree to any cheating towards MoM - it will come back and haunt you later!
If the SAT says you are not eligible, your application would have been rejected very fast. I suspect this employer didn’t even apply. Did you check EPOnline?
You did not mention the offered salary. Is it very low? For a degree holder with 5 years experience, you should be in the range of S$5000/month.

Megan Braks

Dear Surya2K,

I am grateful for your prompt response.

It is true they never shown any black and white prooving they applied for my pass, which is why I am anxious.

My asking salary is 2500$ since I’m just returning in Singapore, and I’m not really expecting a high position. Their final job offer for me is 2300$ for probationary period and and raise it to 2500$ after 3 months if I get permanent position and performance is okay. We even had signed a contract specifying that but with no commencement date yet.

By the way, may I also share that during the past 5 weeks, I tried using my old NRIC information to check if there are any pending applications on MoM website but it only reflected my old pass which was cancelled, nothing else follows. I was hoping that maybe nothing was reflected because new application means new NRIC number.

Anyway, thank you so much for your advice! They are really helpful. I will contact again with my employer to confirm things.

Have a great day!

Megan Braks

Dear Beppi,

Thank you so much for your advice. I was actually thinking of the same thing, just giving them the benefit of the doubt. I will check into those things you mentioned and clarify things with my employer as I need to move forward as well.

Have a great day!

surya2k

FIN number will remain same. If it’s not showing status as “pending “, I’m sure they didn’t apply your application.

At any worst situation, it won’t take a week or two to update in EPOnline status. Check with the employer.

With 5yrs experiences and a degree (check MoM website if they recognise your university or not), salary should have been $5k or around that level (agreed with Beppi).

But, if university is not in their list then the degree certificate won’t count.

Better find a good employer rather a cheater. Good luck

Megan Braks

Thank you so much for your advice and guidance. I really appreciate your help. Have a great day!

Howdy all,

My first posting here.

I have been waiting for my EP for 3-4 months [more likely 4], anyone longer than me here or I am the record :>?

Anything I can do besides waiting?

Thanks all for your advice.

beppi

Way2long: What is the status of your application shown in the EPOnline system?
Your employer could contact MoM and ask for the reason of the delay.

Hi Beppi,

Thanks so much for your reply.

My prospective employer did not give me any ref# and I understand the system only allows corporate user login.

I have been nudging the employer every 2 weeks or so but the reply has always been the same "Pending".  I was told MoM has its prerogative not to disclose any reason for the delay.

Have a great weekend.

beppi

You can of course log in yourself to check your status. You need your FIN number (which the employer must give you - otherwise get it from MoM). Some people can also login with their passport number, but others not. Try it!
The FIN is yours stays the same for any subsequent application (by other employers), so you must get it.
Most employers who refuse to give the FIN are cheaters and didn’t even apply. I hope they didn’t charge you anything (which would be illegal, but is common among the cheaters).

Thanks Beppi again for your reply.

I will check with the employer [who paid for the application  fee] on the FIN# .

Is the MoM website https://eponline.mom.gov.sg/epol/PEPOLE … Action.do?

Hi Beppi,

You are right, I just checked the EP status online myself using the Passport number.

My case has been "Pending" more than 109 days!
Will the Online status show which sub-stage, e.g. "Vetting with agencies",  I am in during the "Pending" phase?

I heard EP approval has become very stringent these days.

Thanks so much and have a great week ahead.

beppi

The vetting stage will be shown in the EPOnline status (if applicable - not all applications are vetted). No other information is shown about which status the process is at.
