Hi XTang,
I saw lots of what you said about this thread and I do have a specific question
I am planning to move to Dubai soon as I got a contract and my family will relocate with me. My wife has a HepB+. She is not going to work but she will apply for residency from home country. Will she be tested for Hep? Is it better to get her on tourist visa first and then apply for the residency once we are I. Dubai? Thanks for answering
Cheers
Hi... i wanted to ask you... im not working in 6 categories... ive been here since 2013... and never did hepatatis b test..... recently i am unemployed... on visit visa... i did a test on being that... and result is positive... the lab will send to DHA... when i get a job and do visa change... do u think it will be a big problem? I will not work in 6 categories... will the previous test somehow link to my previous test?...

Better to do it on visit visa if she will be tested at home through GAMCA. GAMCA will mark her as UNFIT.
Sorry to ask you... its long story
Actually ive been working in UAE since 2013... passed all the medical tests(not in the 6 categories)...early this year i left the company and changed my residence visa into visit visa... few days back i got a good offer to work for a gym... so i thought about doing a test before taking the offer... i did the test at aster clinic.. they took my passport and visit visa... when i got the result they said im hepatitis b positive and told me that they will inform the test to DHA...im just so worried if i ever started applying my residence visa.. will i get rejected?... ofcuz im not gonna work for 6 catagories where HBV is not allowed... pls let me know if you can enlighten me
Thank you so much
Shouldn't be a problem if not in the 6 categories.
Thank you . You are very kind
Thanks. I am taking your advise. She will come on a tourist visa and will apply for her residency when I get mine. Is there any chance to know with certitude what type of diseases will she be tested against when applies knowing that she will not work? The reason why I keep asking questions is that I am afraid that after I relocate with my wife and kids and get them enrolled at school, she doesn’t get her residency and she gets deported. That will be a big mess.
The same medical is for everyone irrespective of whether work or family visa.
Thx again XTang
So She will be tested for HepB but since she is not going to work, that shouldn’t be a problem.
so frustrated. I am now here in uae, my visa here is a spousal visa sponsored by my wife. I am a nurse by profession back in the philippines. I applied as a first aider in one of construction here in uae and had been scheduled for interview this monday. What am i afraid is if their is hepatitis b scrèening and got positive and eventually be deported...
Are new comers to Dubai not under the 6 categories tested for hep b?
If found positive will they be denied a visa and deported?
Everyone gets tested for Hep B - that is already specified in the rules. You just get a visa if you are not part of the 6 professions.
Thanks for your replies Xtan, just wanted to be sure are taxi drivers under the 6 categories? Because on the listed categories it mentions private drivers, so will taxi drivers be counted as private ? Thanks 😊
I don't think so but check with your sponsor as the big companies may have their own requirements on top of Government mandate i.e. Government might give you a visa despite Hep B but the company might not want a driver with Hep B in any case.
Hello Xtang, thanks so much for your tireless support in giving us guidelines and hope, I want to ask, are Night Club Bouncers/Club security, under the six category of jobs as pa the medical fitness, I needed to know before I apply.
Thanks, hoping to hear your reply soon,🙏🏾
Theoretically no but if the place is organised as an food or beverage outlets, all visas issued by it would be subject to those professions.
What is your work in dubai
Hello everyone, XTang
I want to bring some good news as we got the long term Emirates visas and ID despite my wife is HepB +
If not in 6 categories already mentioned by XTang and described on the official website, you are only tested for HIV and Tuberculosis.
Thanks again XTang for the valuable advices. Preferably if you are HepB + to come on a tourist visa and do the tests here rather than doing them in home country.
Congrats.
Yes, if you are Hep B, come on a tourist visa as if you do the tests in GAMCA, they will not pass you.
Hi Xtang,
I have a question. Is healthcare clinic can be consider as health club?
Hi, is anyone here working health care clinic in dubai? If I will apply in healthcare clinic and I have Hepa B can I still get my employment/residence visa?
What do you mean health club? healthcare professionals face problems not just because of Hep B but also other diseases like Hep C.
Under the new rules of UAE, if your have Hepa B you are not allowed to work the 6 categories right?
What if I will be working in healthcare facilities as clerk and I have Hepa B, can I still get my employment visa and Residence?
You need to check that with your sponsor as there is an issue in this sometimes.
Hi XTANG, could you please hep me with information about hepB, is it possible for somebody to work at ADNOC offshore( not a direct staff to adnoc but as staff of a contractor). A friend is about to go for adnoc medical test and he desperately need this info before resigning from his present job. He's a resident of the UAE. Thanks in advance.
Hi all, what's the possibility of someone wt hepB getting fitness certificate after adnoc offshore medical test. The said person won't be working directly with adnoc but will be working as staff of of a contractor/company under adnoc projects. Will he be allowed to work at the UAE offshore?
The same rules as discussed before apply i.e. the 6 category; irrespective of the company.
Thanks for your reply @XTANG, I thought as much earlier on but I have been earing all sort of negative feedback(not from reliable sources though) from those who claimed they're working with contractors under adnoc projects. They saying that adnoc has it's internal requirements and anyone with hepB issues won't be allowed. Once again Thanks so much for the response.
By the way, keep in mind that UAE laws are clear about the 6 categories BUT nothing stops the employer from implementing their internal policies on top of that. For example, some employers routinely withdraw offers for people with Hep B and even Hep C. So yes that can happen but you would need to check directly with the employer.
Hi Xtang,
I am currently working as a maintenance engineer in a food beverage industry(water bottling plant)) in dubai, having hep b, renewed visa two times with same employer, i got a new job in abu dhabi in same food and beverage industry as a maintenance engineer, i will be considered in the mentioned 6 categories? consideration is based on profession or type of organization? please suggest.
Thanks & Regards.
I appreciate your response @XTANG but I need specific information as relates to adnoc requirements. If adnoc requirement says no to HepB then contractors working on adnoc projects can not say otherwise. I hope that somebody who has gone through the process or having in-depth knowledge of this issue would one day reply to this trend.
Offshore medical requirements on hepB in uae? Offshore hepB requirements on adnoc offshore? Please help if you are out there with useful information.
