I think I have an issue with squeezing blogs with web sites together in the same category. 
Blogs tend, IMHO, to be more of a monolog while web sites must meet the exigencies of a dialogue and standards of unexpected novelty if the public is to buy.  Blogs may be a diary, a reference; web site are real online stores.  Please believe me, it's so exciting to turn the PC on at 6AM and see an order from somebody in Tasmania waiting for you to process it, somebody who not only agrees with your views but also paid for the item.
