Planning to move to Ireland

Post new topic

Hi !

Please shed shed some light on my situation. My husband (British citizen)  and I'm a south african we're planning to settle in Ireland before the end of this year.
We've no idea where to begin, we've tried to get some info online and called the Irish embassy as well but we are still in the dark about everything. We're in the process of buying a house over there even though we both never been to the country, we've had enough of the UK spouse visa process and just want to get some peace of mind.
We're going to Ireland soon to check some property out and I'm not really sure what documents to take with apart from marriage certificate and my passport.

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

All the information you need regarding emigrating to Ireland can be found on The Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) website; this link will take you there.  I've just gone through it pretending to be a South African married to an EU citizen and it looks really simple.

Hope this helps.
