Entering Brazil with a car

FloraFauna

Hi all,

i have a somewhat specific question, not sure if anyone would have any knowledge about this.
Me and my partner have permanent residency in Brazil and Chile. We spend most of the year in Chile and have a Chilean car. We would like to know if we can drive to Brazil with our Chilean car? We do not want to import to car into Brazil, we would spend 2-3 months in Brazil, and then drive back to Chile. I can imagine there are rules for this for permanent residents of Brazil...?

Any ideas?

Well I know to get into Argentina, Uruagay , Paraguay and Venezuela from Brazil you need a special insurance called a "Carta Verde".
Not sure about Chile but I know it's different.
