MasterofDisaster

Its just when u go to buy a decent tyre or allen keys.

u can get them anywhere because theres no market and therefore no shop for them.

Maybe Hanoi/ HCMC r better but the rest of the country is really hard to get things normal western people might want but viets never buuy.   so annoying

I agree. There are tool markets and many tire stores.
You can get almost everything you need in VIetnam.
Some things and brands that are not popular here, you can bring from your home country.

Allen keys calibrated in fractional inches may be hard or even impossible but I find it hard to believe that with a little investment of time and effort, you couldn't find a set of metric Allen wrenches.

Given the price of labor in Vienam why are you even thinking of fixing your own tires.   Even in rural areas there are tire repair shops.

really, id like some decent tyres. anything to keep safer as thats the biggest risk

IRC, MAxxis etc aint too bad, but i'd rather spend a few extra shekels now than a fortune in hospital.  in Quy Nhon - they simply arent available. everyone just buys the cheapest.

There was a Good Year shop in my district and Bridgestone stores everywhere.  These two are the quintessential American and Japanese brands.  You may have to take a bus ride for the brand that you like.
