Need tips and ideas on business

Our next door neighbours just moved in from a different part of the world and they need tips and ideas on promoting their bakery but they dont want to spend lots money. Do you have any favourite websites to promote your businesses here in which you find really work for you?

I guess the best place to promote a business will be on expat-blog itself. We will release the Business Directory section in the coming days, and you can tell your friend to register his business under that section. :D

I would recommend usibg groupon or  such it can really be helpful because it is now very popular and has good effects

Internet is important to promote, but it is not the only way. Your friends can simply send an "opening invitation party" to all people living nearby. I had a teashop in Geneva and at the very beginning, I simply invited people I knew.

i do agree with this..as i believe good friends are good marketers..

A friend of mine used radio to promote his business, wasn't overly expensive and it really helped him get known around town in a short space of time.
