Hi all and thank you for letting me join the forum.

Although I'm based in Devon I travel abroad frequently having recently taken early retirement.

I have booked for my first visit to Mauritius next year but time flies so advice in advance from experts is always welcome.

I've always spent a few weeks each year in Turkey and their excellent forum has been a mine  of great
information - and the odd few heated discussions.

I favour villas over lonely hotels but not remote beachfront places - I need some life around me. Limited mobility (back injury) means I can't walk very far.

I have booked a large apartment in Port Louis and will need a mobility scooter for a couple of weeks.

Any advice most welcome.

I drive but feel that a local driver may be the best way to see the island.

I normally travel with a companion and will be doing so this time.

Thanks for any input you have....

SSambra.

You must be one of those trolls I was warned may be on this forum.

Anyone else with advice re. mobility scooter or hiring a driver?

Thanks

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

You may want to check the Business Directory : Taxi services in Mauritius. You will find a list of taxi services you can contact and inquire. Most expats normally hire a taxi for a couple of hours or even for a day.

Hope this helps.
